When I asked where they got my info from (and they even had the wrong name), they claimed it was from a "trustworthy database." I mentioned GDPR 2018, and they just brushed it off, saying the firm sharing the data with this PPI company might be violating GDPR, but we’ll never find out who’s behind this 'reliable database.' Absolutely no idea what their aim was. I just started meowing back at them on the phone. They went quiet, but I kept at it. Eventually they said a confused "hello". After about 15 seconds of meowing I stayed quiet and they ended the call. Haven't heard from them again. Looks like I've discovered a brilliant method for ditching cold callers. Would definitely suggest giving it a go.

Doesn’t sound very English, and honestly it’s not how us Brits act either. You’d expect this kind of hassle in some busy foreign market where tourists get ripped off, but not in our own neighbourhood. Better watch out for your purse and your bank info.

Got calls from "4264" about 5 times yesterday (5th Feb) and now from 4266 today. My tip? Save the number as "DO NOT PICK UP" and either block it or send straight to voicemail. Then, for every other number that rings with similar ones, add them all under that same contact. I've got well over 200 numbers saved like this now!!!

Got a call earlier today. Gents, give this a go: ask what they're dressed in. Sadly, most women on the other end realise where you're heading and hang up pretty sharpish. But if it’s a bloke or someone who doesn’t, ramp it up and let them know you’re enjoying a bit of ‘me time’, if you catch my drift, listening to them. I phoned back to check who it was and got a voicemail saying I’d reached “the PPI team” and to stop the calls I need to email "[email protected][###]" with my full name, postcode, and their number. Of course, I haven’t done that since I don’t want to hand over personal details, but I’ve blocked the number to hopefully put an end to it. We’ll see if that works.
