Hello there! Just wanted to share my experience with a rather dodgy phone call I received today at 13:55 from someone claiming to be Inspector Foo from the esteemed Bukit Aman Police Station. The conversation mirrored what John described: - He quizzed me on whether I was familiar with two individuals, Lee Yong Shin and Lim Chee Han. - He claimed that a bank account book, allegedly linked to a bank in Hong Kong, was found registered under my name and National Identity Card number, which he was able to recite accurately. - He warned me of a serious money-laundering investigation and that should the Hong Kong police get involved, I could be detained for a fortnight during their inquiries. - He insisted that I must get in touch with the Hong Kong Police Station (Mr. ç½-伟祥: 0085260674175) directly from my mobile phone to report this and for the case record, emphasizing the need to use my personal device. I'm absolutely relieved to have stumbled upon this site, which confirmed it was a scam call - it's certainly put my mind at ease, especially as I’ve had my wallet stolen before and had visited HK a few years back. Let’s spread the word and ensure that no one else falls victim to these fraudsters. Stay cautious!

Today, we encountered a similar scam operation. Someone posing as an inspector from Bukit Aman approached us, and upon seeing two individuals we recognised, we inquired about their department. They told us they'd call back shortly. However, she later mentioned that our case would be passed on to another branch for resolution. When we returned the call to 2266222, it turned out to be the actual contact line for Bukit Aman Police. The female officer informed us that we were dealing with a spam ring, and others had reported the same experience. She advised us to stay vigilant, as these individuals are likely to follow up soon. So, everyone, please exercise caution!
