They said I’d get 2 Gig every day for just R199 a month. Sounds like a proper challenge to Vodacom if you ask me! Haha, I reckon this number is just a trap to catch the naive folks.

I urge you to block this number immediately, as I've been inundated with calls from them. They're attempting to defraud people, withdrawing money from accounts without consent. It's best to ignore any calls from this number altogether.

I got a call today from the very same number, claiming to have some secret information. They said they were from Vodacom and wanted to know if I was affiliated with them. I pointed out that I've never received a call from a Durban landline associated with Vodacom. If you’re really from Vodacom, why are you inquiring about my connection to them? They then hastily requested my date of birth, which I promptly declined to provide. Unsurprisingly, they hung up shortly after. They had some outdated details about me, so it was clear this was just another dodgy scam attempt. Beware of this number, everyone!

I suspect this number belongs to a call centre linked to VVM Attorneys. They seem to have an incessant knack for ringing you up about your TV licence fee, almost as if it’s their sole purpose in life. The timing of their calls is quite ridiculous too, often at the most unsociable hours. Whenever I've picked up, it’s like having a chat with a brick wall; they remain silent. On the rare occasion they do respond, they admit to it but simply utter a half-hearted apology before continuing their relentless pursuit. I could be mistaken, but it appears they might use numerous different numbers and even call with no caller ID.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been getting loads of calls every weekday, which is really annoying. The initial call was someone pushing a Vodacom deal, but when I said I wasn’t interested, the calls just kept flooding in, sometimes multiple times a day. I reached out to Vodacom, but they claim they don’t recognise the number and advised me to report it to the local police. Neither Telkom nor Vodacom seem able to block these numbers. Other calls have been coming from 087 310 7500, and the suggestion I got was to try blocking apps on my phone myself.

I've come across more than 8000 people who have flagged this number. I've programmed my phone to reject any calls from it. It seems to be linked to a phishing scheme aimed at snatching your banking information - especially when they finally manage to get you on the line.
