On the 30th of March, 2017, I received a rather suspicious call from a gent claiming to be from FNB. He was banging on about a SIM card issue. I was quite preoccupied at the time, so I mentioned I couldn’t chat and requested he ring me later. To my alarm, he seemed to already have my FNB account number! Moments after our conversation, I discovered that a hefty R250 had been pulled from my account at an FNB ATM located in Highpoint, which I can't even place on the map! Quite the unsettling experience, I must say.
