Watch out, this is sketchy stuff and it's annoying because the call actually shows as coming from Barclays’ own number. I’ve reported it previously but Barclays just don’t seem bothered at all!

Got a message saying my card was blocked and to ring this number. It looked pretty real like a proper Barclays text. The worrying bit is they copied the Barclays style spot on. I tried telling Barclays about a scam like this before and honestly, they didn’t seem to bother doing anything.

Like others have mentioned here, this message is definitely a scam, and quite a sneaky one since it looks just like the usual Barclays texts you get. What worries me is seeing two folks down below actually believing it’s legit. I’ve reported it to Barclays myself, and they promised to shut the number down. But since this scammer’s been using it for several months, it doesn’t really seem like Barclays have managed to deal with it effectively yet.

SCAM ALERT - Got a message saying it was from Barclays, and it was sneaky because it came in right after a legit text from them, so it looked spot on. Please don’t ring the number, I reckon I’ve been conned out of some dosh. Already reached out to the proper Barclays and fingers crossed they can sort it out. These scammers spoke English too, so watch out and don’t fall for it like I did. The number I got has stopped working now.

What a bunch of crooks! The message looked proper legit, it popped up in my usual Barclays chat thread. When I rang the number, they began asking loads of private stuff, which made me feel really uneasy. They even connected me to some 'verification team'. Didn’t sit right with me, so I ended the call and headed straight to my branch. Turns out, in under ten minutes, they’d attempted to swipe about £9,000 from both my personal and business accounts. The message claims that there’s been a suspicious online purchase made on 31st March 2017 at 16:09:03, involving a hefty charge of 1976.00 GBP at the APPLE ONLINE STORE. If you didn’t authorise this transaction, it instructs you to urgently contact their fraud prevention team at 03036665428 or on the international line +443036665428. They explicitly advise against replying via SMS. Stay vigilant!

Got a message popping up saying it was from Barclays fraud team, claiming someone spent £2000 on my card. The text showed up in my inbox under Barclays, so I thought it was legit at first. Tried ringing the number they gave but couldn’t get through, then phoned Barclays themselves and they said it’s definitely a scam. Lucky for me, I don’t even have that much money in my account! Fraudulent caller alert! Stay well away from this number. They pretended to be from Barclays and seemed quite convincing, probably because they buy random digits from a firm in Chelmsford called TTNC Ltd, which makes them appear legitimate. They somehow managed to secure a £50,000 loan using my details, but thankfully I noticed something was off and got in touch with Barclays, who promptly froze my account. Just goes to show how low some people can stoop. Disgraceful!

Watch out for scammers pretending to be from Barclays! They somehow get your phone info and then call, making it look like legit messages from your bank appear on your phone too. It’s really easy to get tricked if you’re not careful. They’ll try to get your personal info, but never give anything away!

Got a message saying it was from my bank, which freaked me out since they even knew which bank I’m with - kinda creepy really. It warned me about some dodgy payment and said to ring them asap. A couple weeks ago I got the same text. So I rang my bank on their official number and they told me no payments like that had happened. The message came from a hidden number, so it’s obviously a con. Best thing is to just ignore it or mess about with them by feeding fake details.

Scam alert! Got a call from some woman with a Scouse accent claiming to be from NatWest. She wanted me to use my card reader and punch in my pin, along with asking for my customer number. Definitely a dodgy scam, don’t fall for it. Never ring back!

Scammers got me trying to get me to use a card reader. They’d already hacked into my online banking, so when they asked me to confirm some transactions, it genuinely felt like it was my bank. The number came in a text I thought was from NatWest. Honestly, don’t ring this number back - it sounds just like an official automated message, but it's a total scam. NatWest have confirmed it’s fake. They even moved money between my accounts trying to take more from my savings. Be careful!
