9 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from BT and that hackers abroad were using our internet. I told him I didn’t buy it and he started cussing at me. I ended the call, but he rang back and started swearing at my missus. She cut off straight away. That same number phoned a few more times after that, but we just ignored it.BT9 yearsI got a call from this number and when I picked up, a woman claimed she was ringing on behalf of BT. She said my internet connection was being hacked and supposedly being exploited by foreigners to infect other people's devices. She then asked me to switch on my PC, and once it had booted, she told me to hit the Windows key plus the "R" key at the same time. This opened a run box, where she instructed me to type "CMD" and hit enter. I asked why she needed me to bring up the command prompt, and she just pushed me to do it anyway. I refused to open it without a proper explanation. She got annoyed and shouted that she’d cut off my internet within half an hour for six months if I didn’t cooperate, then hung up. What’s really upsetting is that I suspect these scammers might be insiders at companies like BT or other big firms who use their access to personal details to pull off these cons!BTBritish TelecomCMD9 yearsI got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from BT, warning me that international hackers were messing with our internet.
