7 yearsSome automated robot called me saying I was involved in tax fraud and demanded I press 1 fast or I'd get arrested soon. This is definitely a con, since there's no way I'm doing any fraud. Quite suspicious.8 yearsI received a rather alarming phone call earlier today. The person on the line, a woman who sounded possibly of Indian descent, was yawning throughout our conversation - quite unprofessional, if you ask me. She informed me that I was facing legal action for tax revenue fraud and that I could expect an arrest soon. To say I was taken aback would be an understatement; I had no idea what she was going on about! I’ve always paid my taxes on time and have endeavoured to conduct myself with honesty. She had my name and I confirmed my address, but then she seemed rather eager to end the call. When I pressed for clarification on why I was being accused, she merely repeated that I had committed fraud and I was going to court. Is there anyone who can help clarify this absurd situation? I’d really appreciate your insights. Thank you!8 yearsReceived a call earlier today claiming there was a warrant for my arrest due to an outstanding tax payment. I'm employed full-time under PAYE, thank you very much! They wanted me to hang on the line to 'resolve' the issue. Not a chance! After perusing the comments, I’ve no doubt this is a scam. I've swiftly blocked their number!PAYE9 yearsI phoned 03030312322, believing it was the inland revenue, but at some stage during the call, I found myself shifted over to 09037080400. To my utter disbelief, I've now been billed an outrageous £65.15 for a call that lasted 17 minutes and 37 seconds! I'm absolutely fuming. Is there genuinely no safeguard against these dodgy practices? At no point in the conversation did I suspect I was being roped into a scam.10 yearsI’ve come across this number tucked away on my bill, right next to another one (09037089402). The charges for that number were just a few pence, but what’s really troubling is that no one was using the phone when these calls supposedly occurred, yet we received a bill for over £70! In our household, we all rely on our mobiles, rarely ever picking up the landline as we prefer to communicate through texts and emails. Honestly, we only ever touch the phone when it’s about those pesky PPI calls! We’re connected to Sky for our landline services, which usually keeps our bills under a fiver. However, they’ve claimed to have reviewed the numbers and insist we’re responsible for this charge. A quick search online reveals I’m not alone in this frustration; it seems the issue is linked to that number nestled between others, suggesting we were using the phone when we weren’t.Sky10 yearsBeware of this appalling scam number linked to A2B Telecom Ltd that's appearing right at the top of Google search results, claiming to connect you with the HM Passport Office. The ad prominently features an 0903... number in bold green characters. Whatever you do, steer clear of both this number and the 0903 line! I found myself shelling out £30.68 for an 8-minute and 20-second call that was abruptly disconnected before I could even connect with the Passport Office. To make matters worse, I then tried the 0903 number and was hit with another charge of £23.69 for a 6-minute and 26-second call. I genuinely didn't expect a governmental department to be associated with such unscrupulous connections. However, after eventually reaching them, it seems the Passport Office has not taken steps to block this company’s number, despite numerous prior complaints and the firm’s prosecution back in 2008! Absolutely shameful!A2B Telecom LtdGoogleHM Passport OfficePassport Office10 yearsReceived an email that seems a bit dodgy, claiming there's a refund from HMRC waiting for me. Likely just a phishing attempt, if you ask me.HMRCSubmit Your Own Report (0303 031 2322)

About 03 Numbers
Many organizations utilize 03 numbers instead of the pricier 08 numbers. As an example, numerous public sector entities have shifted from 0845 numbers to 0345. The price of calls is the same as calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). The charges for calls depend on the time of the day, and most providers offer call packages that permit calls free of charge at specific times of the day. Mobile call costs differ according to the chosen calling plan. Generally, these calls are incorporated in free call packages.
