Honestly, don’t bother with these offers - and if you do want something, make sure you book directly through Sky.

I got a call from some bloke saying that the warranty on my Sky box was about to run out and tried to get me to sign up for a 2 year maintenance plan. I told him straight away that I don’t actually own the box, Sky still does. Then I asked why I’d pay for a service if they don’t replace the box when it breaks - surely that’s on them? He kept insisting that the warranty and the service were two different things, which may be right, but I’ve never been with Sky anyway. I told him that and just ended the call.

Got a call from this number around 10.26 this morning, Friday the 27th, but nobody said a word on the other end. Feels like a scam to me. This number’s popped up a few times over the last week as well. Tried using 1471 to check who it was but when I rang back it said “number not known.” Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Honestly, it's pretty dodgy how these scammers keep calling about Sky Insurance. They seem to be fully aware of what kit I use. I've had the gear for ages now, well past any warranty, but Sky said if it ever packs up and I'm still paying them, they'll sort a replacement at no extra cost. If not, Virgin get my business. Feels like a complete con, and I'm sure Sky must be leaking customer info for these calls to be so spot on.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent asking for my mum. When I asked who it was, he said something about sky equipment insurance. I just hung up straight away. Then, a couple of minutes later, he called again but this time the number showed as unavailable on my phone. He repeated his question but changed it to washing machine insurance instead. I told him to get lost and put the phone down again. Two calls in under five minutes - total scam if you ask me.
