This lady phoned me claiming she worked for Microsoft. She said my computer showed a foreign IP and they had to sort out all my devices. I hung up straight away, but she called again saying the server was showing loads of errors. She was definitely trying to scare me. I told her I wasn’t buying any of it and to stop calling my home number. She said she was in Reading and started giving me her ID details, but I cut her off and ended the call again.

I was told this number was for Microsoft in Reading, but when I checked the postcode, nothing matched up at all! The guy even gave me his supposed employer ID number!!! I’m definitely glad I’m a bit sceptical. He claimed Microsoft servers had detected that my PC was hacked by some criminals. He was surprisingly open about contacting me through means that don’t seem traceable either!!! The call came through my landline from 01256 233854. Can’t find any info about this number anywhere!!

Got a missed call and looked up the number, it says Microsoft but that seems odd since they never usually call you. Anyone else noticed this? Check it out on Google yourself.

Someone with a European accent called, pretending to be from Microsoft, saying my sister-in-law’s PC in the UK was hacked and being used for cybercrime in the US. They asked for personal info and to take control of her computer remotely. Classic scam stuff. When we looked it up, the number came back as 001471 5752656.
