I NEED TO REPORT THIS NUMBER! I got a call claiming I’m being investigated for owing £441 to HM Revenue & Customs. The guy even knew my email and that I bank with Nationwide. I’m really annoyed by this. I tried calling back, but the number was unrecognised. This has to be a scam. I’m unwell and don’t have patience for these scammers messing about. I can’t believe I nearly fell for it. If it was genuinely HMRC, they’d have called from a proper number or sent me a letter first. I know I don’t owe them anything. I want this sorted ASAP. If it happens again, I’ll be reporting it to the police. The number was 0300 657 2884.
