I’ve been getting correspondence regarding a penalty of £46.75 related to a prescription charge of £9.35, and to top it off, they mentioned that I was pregnant last year. Just to clarify, I’m a bloke, not a lass! The number in question is 0300 330 9291. What's going on?

I’m completely baffled by this situation. The individual I look after received a call from this number, which they didn’t pick up, yet they’ve somehow been charged for a supposed six-minute call that has racked up a cost of 90p. Apparently, this number is linked to the NHS and concerns free prescription eligibility. How is it possible for them to incur a charge when no call was either made or received? Here are the call particulars for reference: Date: 01 Oct Time: 15:25 Number: 03003 30 9291 Duration: 0:06:00 Cost: £0.90 (excluding VAT)

this is about nhs prescriptions. unless you’re getting benefits, you usually have to pay for your meds. for instance, if your esa or anything like that stops, then prescription charges become your responsibility. you can ask for an hsc1 form if you’re on a low income, fill it out and send it back, and they’ll take care of it for ya.

Had a run-in with the NHS, they tried charging me £50 for a nasal spray that’s only meant to cost £3. Proper rip-off if you ask me.
