These scammy folks using 0300 numbers are a nightmare! Almost all those numbers seem the same to me, so I just block them as soon as they ring. I've got BT call protect installed (not sponsored or anything, just sharing), and it's free, which is great. You can pay for extra features if you want, but really, if you get a dodgy call, you just dial 1572 and follow the directions - at the moment it’s pressing '1' twice. It’s dead easy, and you can report it online too after checking who called. I absolutely loathe these fraudsters making fake calls, they’re just out to rob us!

So I got one of those robo calls claiming HMRC is suing me, asking me to press one to talk to some caseworker about paying up. Just a heads up, it’s definitely a scam! HMRC knows about this trick and you should just hang up straight away if you get that.

Had a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent, saying they're from HMRC about preparing for Brexit. But they couldn't tell me anything specific about our company or even who they thought they were ringing. When I pushed them to give me a proper HMRC reference number, like a VAT or UTR, they just said they didn't have that info as they were calling “on behalf of” HMRC. Felt a bit off to me.

The call came through on a really poor connection, so it was hard to make out what they were saying. They mentioned something about Brexit preparations, but honestly, I was a bit suspicious and decided not to engage. Caution, this number is linked to a notorious scam operation masquerading as HMRC. They pose as officials from the Inland Revenue and make alarming threats about imprisonment if you fail to settle your tax dues over the phone. To make matters worse, they even claimed my property was being monitored-a truly unsettling experience! Do yourself a favour and block this number; there's absolutely no legal action looming against you!
