I received a call from someone purporting to be Mr Alan Wilson, supposedly from HMRC, discussing my wife's overseas income declaration. The thing is, I’m not even hitched! What a strange mix-up!

This morning, I got a call from someone saying he was Mr Alan Wilson from HMRC, asking about my wife’s overseas income. I asked him for his number and he gave me 03003227012. In all my 48 years, I’ve never had a call like this from HMRC before. Seems quite dodgy to me, probably a scam.

This morning, I got a call from a man who said he was Mr Alan Wilson from HMRC, asking about my wife's overseas income declaration. I asked him to give me his number, which he did - 03003227012. We've never had a call from HMRC in the past 48 years, so this feels like a scam to me.

Got a call from 03003227012 saying I owe tax because of an offshore account, but it was definitely not a legit letter from HM Revenue. Sounds dodgy to me.

I got a letter at my address with this number on some offshore tax paperwork, asking me to provide my bank info. It’s meant to be sent back to HMRC but the address is a PO Box 168 in Bootle, [30 4wn. It doesn’t make sense why HMRC would use a PO Box or want you to call that number. Since I don’t have any offshore accounts or transactions, I’m just ignoring it and won’t respond.
