Got a call a bit ago from someone saying they were from TV Licensing. I ended up telling them my name, where I live and how many rooms in the house. Still waiting on an email from them, but something feels off, so I reckon it might be a scam.

Got a call from someone pretending to be the TV Licence, felt really uneasy cause they sounded quite pushy and a bit scary. Definitely a scam!

Got a call that seemed dodgy, with a message quoting an email that didn’t even exist and the business name all wrong and misspelt. The person on the other end mentioned the names of two partners, which was a bit weird. I just said “hello” and let them ramble until the phone went dead. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from the number listed here earlier, and it turned out to be one of those TV licence scams. I was careful not to share my address or anything like that. The caller somehow already had my email, knew exactly how much I supposedly owed, and even rattled off the TV licence company's bank info. Felt pretty dodgy to say the least.

Totally a con!!! Got a call from this number then shortly after, they sent me an email with a licence application form attached. The contact details were 0300 303 9686 and the email was: [email protected]. Really worried that older folks might fall for this trick - I've already reported it!

I got an email from Michelle Smith about the licence fee being due soon. I was just thinking about it, but ended up ignoring it!

Got a call on 19th June 2025 from someone claiming to be with the TV Licensing team. They wanted details about my company, but I told them everything they needed should be easy to find on our website, including our email. I stayed polite but made it clear I wasn’t convinced the call was legitimate. The woman on the other end said she’d post a letter to confirm it was official... now I’m just waiting to see if that turns up!

Got a call from this number that I couldn’t pick up, and shortly after I got an email saying they’d been trying to reach me without luck. The email mentioned details about our company and even a letter I received from TV licensing just last month, which was a bit worrying. Thankfully, I looked up the number on this site first. I can totally see how they might sound legit and fool people though!

They claimed to be from TV licensing but I’m not totally sure if that’s legit; I also shot them an email to check.

Hope the bloke behind this cheeky scam never gets a second chance - wouldn’t wish him an ounce of gratitude, if you ask me!

Seems like these scammers are switching things up now. In January 2023, my company got a letter from them, and the number they used matches the one folks are talking about on this site.

Some guy rang me saying he was from TV licensing but it obviously sounded dodgy to me. Definitely a scammer trying to pull a fast one.

A really persistent scammer this was. They hit us up using two separate phone numbers and even sent an email from a completely different account. Clearly, they’re trying to make themselves look legit or something.

They said they were from TV licensing, but then asked for my email and name - stuff TV licensing should already have. I just wouldn’t hand over any details.
