I had put in an application for a £10,000 loan and got a call saying they could provide it. But then they insisted I pay the first instalment in advance to "check if I could afford it." On top of that, they got my bank wrong, saying I used a different one from my actual bank. As soon as they asked for money upfront, I just ended the call - definitely felt like a scam. Just a heads up, if someone asks you to pay first, it's probably not legit. Nothing is ever free, so watch out.
