About half an hour ago, this 0300 number rang me up saying I'm supposed to be taken to court over some tax fraud and that I needed a lawyer immediately. I told them I'd ring my local tax people instead and they just hung up on me. These lot are total scammers and honestly, the police really ought to be investigating this. Imagine if they targeted an elderly person and managed to trick them out of money!

Never just take it for granted that the person on the other end of the phone is genuine. If someone rings up asking you to pay something, log into a site, or pushes some kind of bargain, be very careful! Don’t share any of your personal info with them because they could be trying to con you.

Got a call from some dodgy automatic voice claiming to be HMRC saying I've got a warrant out for me. Total scam alert, don't fall for it!
