My elderly nan, who’s 80, got a call from someone claiming to be a tax officer. They said she had to verify her name and address because there was an arrest warrant for her. Proper lowlife behaviour, honestly.

I received a call from this number claiming to be a senior tax official from HMRC. The person was quite aggressive, stating there's an arrest warrant out for me due to alleged tax fraud. I did end up telling him my name and address but stopped short of sharing anything else, asking for a written confirmation instead. He then said they’d tried sending that letter twice but I hadn't received it. Honestly, the whole conversation felt off and quite threatening, unlike how I’d expect a real HMRC agent to behave - more calm and professional, surely. Just a heads up, always double-check the legitimacy of such calls online before handing over any personal info!
