I received a rather alarming phone call, much like others have shared their experiences about. The caller claimed to be from the HMRC Fraud Department, urging me to press 1 to speak with someone about an alleged case hanging over my head. They threatened that failure to respond would lead to proceedings starting and a possible warrant issued against me. I swiftly ended the call, as I suspected it was a ruse. Please, for your own sake, don’t engage or press anything if you encounter this scam!
