I received a call at half eight on a Monday morning, which startled both me and my infant. The robotic voice on the line claimed there was a fraud case with HMRC linked to my name and urged me to press one to speak to someone. Curiously, I did as instructed, and it rang just once before a voice with an American accent told me to hold. Moments later, an Asian woman came on, asserting she was from HMRC. Naturally, I was sceptical and told her I suspected they were the real fraudsters, given the outrageously early hour of the call and my sleeping baby. She replied that she understood my concern but then asked if I was *** and my last name, using a nickname that no official entity would ever use. I said no, pointing out why I was doubtful, but by then, she had already hung up. How ridiculous! HMRC FRAUD, indeed!

Got a call from this number and they said I'd be arrested if I didn't hit 1. I blocked it straight away and reported it as well.

I received a rather alarming call claiming that I've been involved in tax fraud, and they insisted that if I didn’t react promptly by pressing 1, they'd proceed with my arrest.

So this number 030020036777 called me out the blue saying I got an arrest warrant or something coz I didn’t pay some fine from 2015 or 2016. They told me I had to pay up immediately or else. Totally sounded like a scam to me.

Received a call around 8:45 this morning from what sounded like a robotic voice claiming to be from HMRC, stating that a fraud allegation had been made against me and instructing me to press 1. I hung up immediately, as I realised that such serious matters would not be handled in this manner by legitimate officials. Having a background in investigations, I recognised this as a scam. It’s absolutely shocking that such harassment continues to take place; it’s high time that phone companies invested some of their extensive profits into safeguarding their users from these kinds of situations.

DONT PRESS 1 if you get this number calling! Its not really HMRC. I rang HMRC from another phone and they told me they would never call and threaten to arrest you. They've been warned about it already. Make sure you tell your mates so they dont fall for it.
