Someone called claiming to be from HMRC. I told them it was a scam, and they got pretty rude after that. I stood my ground and gave as good as I got, which actually made me feel better. After that, I just blocked the number.

Got a call from this number yesterday, and as soon as I told them I'd ask my mum to speak to them because I've never had a job and have been off sick since school, they hung up and threatened me with a warrant for arrest. Needless to say, I've blocked their number now and luckily no ones come round to my place - caller ID was 03002003570.

These lot really don’t know when to stop, do they? They claimed they were roaming for HMRC and said if I didn’t hit 1 on my phone, I’d get nicked for fraud. So, I told them I was Chief Inspector Moss from Manchester police and just like that, the call dropped. Classic! 😂😂😂 - caller: 03002003591

They ring me pretty much daily but never say anything when I pick up. I try and block it but then a number that's just a bit different always gets through instead. Quite annoying really.

Just had a right plonker on the line attempting some dodgy tax con. Don't waste your breath - hang up straightaway and flag it to the HMRC's anti-phishing team. Trust me, they'll be putting that fool on a fast track to a long stay courtesy of Her Majesty’s Prison Service!

Definitely a con! Avoid hitting 1, even if you're just wondering what's on the other end, because it flags you as someone they might trick. They'll then use other tricks to steal your personal info. Caller ID showed 0300 200 3570.
