Got a call from 0300 200 0935 saying they were from HMRC, threatening me with arrest over tax fraud if I didn’t press 1. Of course, I didn’t press it. I’m guessing it was either a trick to get my personal info, a payment scam, or maybe it would have hooked me up to a premium rate line so they could rip me off. Seriously, don’t ever press 1 if you get a call like this. Best thing is to just block and forget about it.

Someone pretending to be from HMRC called me, saying there was an arrest warrant against me and to press option 1. It was so fake, they just ended the call right after. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

My phone rang from 03002008331 and it was an automated voice saying they were a debt collector for HMRC. They even mentioned bailiffs coming! I'm going to report this to HMRC but getting through is taking ages.

This number, 0300 200 3036, rang me on 15/04/19. I didn’t know who it was so I looked it up online and ended up on a site called “who called me.” Loads of folks had left bad reviews about it, so I’ve decided to just block the number and not answer if they ring again.

Just to add to what the guy before said, these scammers often call through Skype. It’s cheaper for them (sometimes free if they use stolen card details), plus they can fake the caller ID to make it look like it’s HMRC or some official place. If you ring the number back, you’ll probably get a genuine adviser. If you get another suspicious call, best to report it to the police’s action fraud team - just Google “action fraud” and they might be able to track where the call came from. I’m an HMRC call centre agent, so just trying to help!

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be from HMRC, spouting the usual nonsense about an arrest warrant. I told the bloke I was dead and to go serve his warrant in hell, where the devil could sort him out proper. Not shockin, he quickly ended the call.

This is clearly a scam, no doubt about it. What really bugs me is that someone out there has got to have a clue who’s behind these numbers. So why hasn’t anyone been busted for fraud yet? Feels like the phone providers might be turning a blind eye because they’re cashing in on all this somehow.
