I received a rather dubious telephone call today, supposedly from HM Revenue and Customs. Upon picking up, an unsettling automated voice informed me of a purported case filed against me, and ominously warned that not responding could lead to a warrant for my arrest. Shortly thereafter, an individual with a thick accent, who I can only describe as a lowly con artist posing as an HMRC official, came on the line. When I mentioned my own position at HMRC and inquired about his name and department, he promptly cut the call. Very suspicious if you ask me! - Caller ID: 03002001383.
