Initially, I didn’t pick up when they called, but they rang back and I figured it might be something serious. The guy claimed he was from HMRC and said they were conducting routine checks... he asked for my date of birth and, naively, I gave it to him! Then it clicked - he asked if I had an accountant, and I told him I didn’t have the info on hand. He then said it was no problem. The voice seemed like it belonged to an older man.
