Reports on phone number 03000571657
9 yearsYesterday, this number called me twice, and a woman answered saying she was from HMRC. She asked me to run through some security checks, starting with confirming my National Insurance number. I asked for her contact number so I could verify it, but the number didn’t show up anywhere on searches. About half an hour later, I phoned the number back and she answered again. I told her I couldn’t find any info on the number and asked if it could be followed up with a letter instead, which she agreed to. Just a few minutes ago today, I rang the number again hoping to get a voicemail or an answer phone message that might prove it's legit, but it just rang continuously for a good 3 minutes before disconnecting. For a government office, it’s strange not to have an answer machine or recorded message outside working hours. I’m a bit suspicious about this number now, especially as I haven’t received any letter through the post yet.HMRCNationalSubmit Your Own Report (0300 057 1657)
