I received a rather alarming phone call claiming that my computer was riddled with viruses and that my Norton software was incompatible with Windows. The caller offered to assist me for a staggering £160 over a period of nine years. They were rather persistent in asking for my card details, which they certainly did not attain! Instead, I cheekily proposed sending a cheque if they revealed their address. Apparently, they operate under the name Streetwise Marketing, based in Derby. After conducting a bit of digging, I've reported them to the fraud squad. Since making that complaint, I've been bombarded with odd calls from 02036300265 and 02036300298 on a daily basis. I've chosen to simply disregard them.

A chap rang me up claiming he was sorting out an issue with my computer. I replied that I didn’t actually own one, to which he asked what I used at home. I reiterated that I had no computer, and just like that, he abruptly ended the call!

We run a computer repair shop with two phone lines. Out of the blue, an Asian bloke rang on line one claiming there were issues with my computer! He was quickly told off and advised to sort himself out in a not-so-polite way. Then, barely five minutes later, the same fool called the second line. Since our number shows up on their screen, my mate picked up and gave him the exact same rude reply. Sadly, there’s always some poor sod who falls for these scams.

Fraudulent activity! They’re attempting to obtain your card details under the pretense of resolving computer issues!

Some bloke called me from this number, his English was terrible. He kept saying he was from Microsoft support or something like that. When I asked him to explain properly, he just said it had to do with my Windows laptop. I told him I wasn’t interested and don’t think so, then he just ended the call. Totally strange and clueless what he wanted. Bit relieved he hung up first, honestly.

Had a chap on the line claiming he was here to 'fix my computer'. When I asked which company sent him, he got all shifty and dodged the question. He was rather keen to discern whether my number was private or for business use. I decided it was best to hang up on him.

I received a rather peculiar call from this number just now. A lady on the other end inquired about my computer. I simply responded with, "Which computer?" To which she erupted in fury, exclaiming, "Your bloody computer!" before abruptly hanging up. Well, at least I didn’t have to deal with that nonsense for long! What a rude encounter!

Feel free to inquire about our computer situation; I was met with quite a bit of hostility when I mentioned, “Apologies, but we only have iPads here.”

Today, I got a phone call from this number with someone claiming to be from Microsoft. They said my computer was sending signals about some speed issues, which sounded really dodgy to me. I told them nicely that my PC was fine and ended the call quickly. I tried ringing the number (02983680545) back, but it didn’t go through at all. After that, I contacted the official Microsoft Helpline to check what was going on, but honestly, they were super unhelpful and didn’t seem to care at all. Pretty shocking really!

I keep receiving calls from this number and I refuse to pick up since I don't have a clue who it belongs to. They always let it ring through to voicemail, yet they never bother to leave a message. After having a look at this site, I'm relieved that I haven't engaged with them.

They're always going on about issues with my laptop, and honestly, it’s quite tiresome. I've had enough of their nonsense and decided enough is enough. Now, I simply hang up the moment they start their spiel.

I had an extensive conversation with a representative from this firm. They kicked off with the standard script about 'logging into the system, checking the event log, and discovering a probable infection.' I swiftly told him to dispense with the nonsense as I am well-versed in IT matters; I wanted to know what he was truly offering. He went on to share that their establishment is based in India, although they have a presence in the UK, providing telephone support as well as remote access for PC assistance, including data recovery, all for a rather modest monthly fee that can be paid via direct debit and cancelled at any time. He explained that they adopted this approach because many computer users lack the knowledge to mitigate issues. It seems to be a legitimate business, albeit with rather inept marketing strategies. The tech industry is certainly thriving in India at the moment.

I've just experienced it as well! I didn't even waste my time engaging; I simply hung up instantly! It's astounding to think that there are folks out there actually compensating these callers with their thick Indian accents to pester unsuspecting individuals, all in a bid to fish for personal information. What a nuisance!

I just had a call at work... Our office has a peculiar setup where about ten phones can ring all at once since our numbers are in sequence.

Luckily, my colleagues are quite clued up when it comes to technology. Some of them just ended the call without a word, while others decided to have a bit of fun and kept him talking, just to irritate him further!

I've just had a rather unpleasant encounter with a scammer. When I confronted him about his tactics, he resorted to making threats of violence.

Just received a call from a bloke claiming there was some sort of ‘hacking problem’ with my computer and urging me to switch it on immediately so he could assist. I told him, “Not a chance-everything’s tickety-boo!” and promptly ended the call. To my surprise, he rang back straight away, asking why I’d hung up and suggesting I didn’t grasp the gravity of the situation. Apparently, if I turned my computer on, I’d witness the ‘proof’ myself! I had a chuckle and told him to save his breath, hung up once more. He made one last attempt to reach me before finally giving up. Honestly, what a terrible gig for that fellow! 😄

I've just got back home and, as is my routine, I dialled 1471 to see if there were any missed calls while I was out and about. With my phone book mysteriously absent, I thought I'd investigate where this number originated from. Thankfully, I stumbled across your site and discovered this number has been flagged as a scam. It rang me at 5:15 pm on Wednesday the 19th, and being 73, it does cause me a bit of anxiety. I really appreciate this resource-thank you so much!

I noticed a familiar trend consistent with what others have mentioned before. So, I feigned ignorance and requested the number, planning to have my son reach out since he handles technical issues. Shortly after, I received the reply, 'Make a note of it.' Then, just like that, the line went dead.

I had an absolute blast with these folk! They claimed my computer was running sluggishly and riddled with viruses. I decided to play along. I fired up my PC as they requested, and lo and behold, it booted up in six seconds flat. I feigned an epiphany, saying, "Oh, you were spot on, please lend me a hand!" And so the charade continued. I even pretended my computer wouldn't start, adopting a slight panic in my voice. I expressed how utterly relieved I was that they had called. After about 25 minutes, I thanked them for the entertainment - while having our chat, I managed to do my online grocery shopping - a chore I truly loathe, but they had made it rather enjoyable! I jokingly asked if they could ring me again next week for another session. Absolutely comical!

I was having a natter with my sister when this number started ringing, and I could see it on my caller ID trying to get through. It was rather bizarre, as I suddenly lost the sound of my sister’s voice, yet this pesky number persisted. Luckily, in my fluster, I accidentally hit the button to accept the call. After a quick search online, it turns out it’s a scam!

I received a rather dubious call today from individuals purporting to represent "Windows." They were insisting that for a sum of £100 or so, they could provide computer security for nearly a decade. However, when I declined their proposal, I was met with quite the unceremonious response - they told me to "go take a hike" before abruptly ending the call. Quite the experience!

I recently received a call from an Indian chap who was fishing for my computer information. His spiel was all about how my machine was supposedly sluggish or infested with a virus-utter nonsense, I assure you! It’s clear he was attempting to gain remote access to my PC or plant some malware to snatch my financial details. Best advice? Don’t engage with these tricksters-just hang up the phone. They’ll do anything to try and convince you of their fabricated problems!

I can’t believe these callers just tried to contact my Mum! She was a bit slow on the uptake and missed the call. Luckily, I was right there, so I looked up the odd number. My Mum is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m baffled as to why these nuisance calls persist, especially considering what others have said about them online. It’s frustrating that these sorts of calls are allowed to keep happening.

Since I began working from home, I've been receiving a rather irritating call weekly. It seems like someone is on the line, but they never say a word before eventually disconnecting. Another frequent nuisance is that call that kicks off with 'Barclays...' - I always end up hanging up on that one too. It’s downright maddening to have my time wasted like this!

I recently received a rather dubious call from an Asian gentleman using this number. He ranted on about my computer being bogged down and riddled with viruses. He even mentioned issues with my broadband! When I quizzed him on who my internet service provider was, he stumbled and couldn’t provide an answer. At that point, I mentioned involving the authorities, and he completely lost his temper, yelling, “Be quiet, madam... just be quiet and switch on your computer now!” At that, I promptly ended the conversation.

Received a rather dodgy phone call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from the "www". He insisted there was an issue with my laptop and requested that I boot it up for him to fix it. I mentioned that my laptop wasn’t at home, to which he said he'd ring me again later tonight. At least I'm a bit wiser now and won’t be picking up that call!

I recently received a call from a chap with an accent that sounded distinctly Indian. He claimed to represent my computer's main server and was adamant that they noticed my machine was lagging. Apparently, he was eager to assist me in resolving this so-called issue. The thing is, my computer is practically brand new-just three days old-and it’s as quick as a flash! I asked him to send me a written message, but he couldn't seem to grasp my address. Frustrated, I eventually told him to bugger off and ended the call. Fingers crossed he doesn’t bother my dad, as he's really not one for taking nonsense! :)

I had a rather peculiar experience today! An individual with an accent that seemed to originate from India rang me up, claiming to be representative of a company called W.W.W. I received a rather peculiar phone call from someone with an accent while I was busy at work. He mentioned he would ring again, which he duly did; however, the conversation was utterly baffling since I wasn't experiencing any issues with my computer. He then connected me to a supervisor with a similar accent. I kept inquiring about how they had acquired my telephone number, but she was quite rude and resorted to swearing at me instead of providing clarity. I’m left none the wiser about how they got hold of my details.

I had a rather peculiar phone call earlier today. A gentleman with an Indian accent reached out to me, claiming that my computer was experiencing some issues that he could assist with. Curious, I inquired about his location, to which he responded that he was calling from a Microsoft Office in Birmingham. It struck me as rather odd, so I informed him that my computer was functioning perfectly well. Suddenly, without another word, he just disconnected the call. Quite the unusual encounter, if you ask me!

I just did a 1471 after missing a call earlier. Seems I received a call from this number around ten past two this afternoon (UK Time) while I was in the Bromsgrove locality in Worcestershire.

I've just had a rather pushy bunch attempt to ring me up. Should they actually manage to connect, they're in for quite a surprise, as I've been in the IT field for more than 25 years. I reckon I'll ask them for their website details so I can set up a little Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) fun. That tends to convey my feelings rather clearly!

Fraudsters! I called it out right from the get-go, and their response was to suggest I just end the call. I told him where to go and promptly disconnected.

I just received a rather dodgy call from a bloke with an Indian accent, claiming my computer was sluggish based on insights from my 'server'. When I inquired about which server, he told me to hang tight and then-would you believe it?-the line went dead! I promptly ended the call myself. Now, I've added that number to my call-blocking feature on my phone. If they attempt to ring me again, they’ll be greeted with a busy signal and promptly disconnected.

It appears I’m not alone in this experience. An individual with an Asian accent rang our business landline. He claimed to represent some sort of computer assistance service. Upon discovering it was a business line, he promptly ended the call. Curiously, my colleague received a nearly identical call just afterwards, and they were inquiring about his IP address.

Got a ring from this number earlier, some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from tech support for my PC. I told him to jog on straight away, and then he had the nerve to say I was the one wasting his time! Honestly, I’m this close to phoning back pretending to be a copper. What a bloody scammer!

I find myself in yet another situation where I’m receiving a call from a chap with a noticeable Indian accent, attempting to inform me about a supposed problem with my (non-existent) laptop. When I mentioned that I don’t actually own one, he simply hung up! It makes me wonder who provides these individuals with phone lines. Whoever it is ought to take a long, hard look at their business practices and perhaps get their act together!

I just had a rather dodgy call from a bloke claiming to be from my broadband provider, insisting that my computer was riddled with viruses. I received a rather dubious call from some unprofessional lot purporting to be from a technical support team. They insisted that my computer was sluggish and needed to be powered on so they could 'assist' me. Honestly, do they really believe we’d fall for such nonsense? I told the caller that if my computer was indeed slow, I’d just purchase a new one! She promptly hung up on me. Is there any way to put an end to these pesky calls?

I had a rather dubious call from a chap with a distinctly Indian accent claiming to be from the computer support team. I had to raise an eyebrow at that - how could he possibly offer help when he didn’t even know what brand of computer I owned? It was evident he was trying to pull a fast one, so I decided to terminate the conversation without further ado. If he dares to ring me again, I’ll mention reporting him to the authorities and actually give them a bell! Surely, there must be a method to put an end to these nefarious types.

Today I got a call from 02983680545, and the person on the other end was really polite, saying they'd assist with cleaning up my computer. I was almost about to play along, but thought better of it! I told them I’m registered with the TPS and warned I'd take legal action if they rang back. That seemed to make them quickly drop the call. After a quick search online, it turns out plenty of others have had dodgy experiences with this number too - someone asking to get into your computer? Sounds fishy to me!

Absolutely, I’ve encountered this a fair few times myself. Just to clarify, Microsoft or Windows never reach out to individuals directly. Their intent is rather dubious; they aim to persuade you to grant them access to your device, allowing them to potentially plant a malicious virus and then have the audacity to bill you for its removal. The wisest approach? Simply inform them that you don't possess a computer or laptop. They won’t have any means to verify your claim!

What a determined chappy! After I suggested, rather tactfully, that the Indian caller might want to take a long walk off a short pier, he continued to ring me, wouldn’t you know it? In a twist of awkwardness, I ended up retracting my earlier remark and suggested that, before making any leaps himself, he might like to dispose of his outdated Windows machines. I even cheekily recommended he strap on an Apple Mac for a bit of enhanced flotation while taking the plunge!

I just received a rather aggressive phone call from this number. The name of the business was quite unclear, and when I requested the gentleman on the line to clarify, he simply continued with his spiel. I had to interject to inquire how he had come by my number, to which he insisted I should just listen. I pressed him on the matter again, and he raised his voice, demanding that I pay attention. I informed him that my number was on a block list and suggested that he had obtained it unlawfully. His reaction was furious, and he only grew louder, which prompted me to end the call. I received a rather suspicious call from this number earlier today. The individual on the line claimed they were monitoring my laptop and WiFi network, and apparently, they had identified a virus that had been transmitted to my device. They insisted they were from a PC support service and urged me to power on my laptop immediately, ensuring that my WiFi was activated. Naturally, I was quite sceptical and refused their requests. I made it clear that it reeked of a scam and mentioned I would be reporting their activities. I too have recently received a call from this number. They spouted the usual nonsense about being from the IT department. I played along with their spiel and did what they asked until they prompted me to hit 'OK'. At that point, I lost interest and ended the call. 😄 They instruct you to press the Windows key together with 'R' to open the Run dialogue. Next, they ask you to enter www.teamviewer.com and hit 'OK'. That's when I decided to cut communication. Been getting calls from this number twice in the last couple of days, and both times were when I was busy! The voicemail, which I now use to screen every call, was empty :-( Why do I have to waste time and pay for this nuisance? I’ve heard from others that this is someone pretending to be an IT company.
