I just received a peculiar call moments ago. The chap on the other end inquired whether my windows were in good condition. I replied that they were spotless, mind you! But it makes me wonder, how on earth did he obtain my number? Do you reckon it's worth ringing him back to give him a taste of his own medicine?

I received a call informing me that my computer was infested with viruses. An individual with an Asian accent was attempting to persuade me to enter a web link on my device. I ultimately decided to hang up on him after firmly telling him to shove off.

Engaged in a bit of charades with them! They seemed to be testing the waters to see just how far they could push me. This one person was quite insistent about me initiating a remote session, which was amusing because I claimed to be Microsoft certified-though, truth be told, that’s not quite the case. However, my past experience equips me with enough knowledge to give them the runaround! They were quite reluctant to provide me with their phone number for troubleshooting purposes, which was a bit dodgy, but on the flip side, they didn’t actually keep it from me either. I reckon my best course of action might be to track down their IP address and consider launching a denial of service attack on their systems and telephone lines. Just a thought!

Had one of these muppets on the line for more than thirty minutes, acting like I was in my eighties and couldn’t quite grasp what he was asking for, they’re seriously that daft you can mess about with them. He got really annoyed when I finally said we ain’t got any internet at all.

They claimed they were providing support for my computer, to which I firmly responded, "No, you aren't!" Then they mentioned it was infected with viruses. I confidently replied, "Not in the slightest!" I built my own machine, so I’m well aware of its workings. He insisted he could assist me, saying they had found a virus lurking around. I promptly ended the call. What a load of fraudulent nonsense!

Got a call today from an Asian guy claiming to be tech support for my PC. I asked what company he was with and all he said was he was technical support for Windows. When I asked which computer since I have a few, he replied it didn’t matter. Later I asked him to ring back when my partner was in and he said he wasn't allowed to call again tonight. I told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. I suspected it was a scam so I looked up the number and ended up on this site. Cheers to everyone for sharing!

I received a rather peculiar telephone call at the office earlier today. The gentleman on the other end, who identified himself as "Simon" and claimed to be from something rather unclear that sounded like "Windows Computer," left me quite baffled. I asked him to repeat himself, seeking clarification, to which he reiterated "Computer, computer, computer." I was left scratching my head, thinking, “Righty-ho, then?” I then inquired about my computer's well-being, to which he responded, “It’s fine.” I probed further, checking if there were any issues. He assured me there weren’t, after which I said, “Well, alright then, cheerio!” before he abruptly cut the line. How utterly bizarre!

Got a call from some Asian guy doing that standard "your computer's got issues" scam. I asked if he felt okay about scammin folks all day long, then he just ended the call. Proper sad.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from Windows support, urging me to visit a website. Sounded pretty convincing and pushed hard, especially if you're not tech savvy. I kept him on the line for about 10 minutes (figured less chance for him to bug others) before telling him I don't use Microsoft stuff. Then he got annoyed and said I was wasting his time. Really worried about anyone falling for this kinda scam.

Got a ring from 02973680545 claiming my computer was sending out problems, told me to turn it on. I asked, "How do I do that?" He goes, "Are you using a laptop or a desktop?" I said I don't own a computer, then he just cut the call. He had an Asian accent, number’s blocked now.

I received a rather odd phone call earlier, claiming they had found issues with my Windows. I couldn't help but ask, "Are we talking about my front windows or the ones upstairs?" To which he retorted, "No, it's your computer." I replied, "Hang on a sec," and took my time turning off my cooking, all the while tuning into Coronation Street. By the end of it, I could tell he was no longer on the line!

I've just had the most infuriating experience! My computer seems to be infected with some sort of virus, and it just froze on me while I was in the middle of something important. I decided to end the call with that number, as it was clearly not a legitimate conversation. What a hassle!

Just got another ring from 02973680545, it was that horrible rude Indian bloke again - last time he called me, he shouted and called me a stupid f*** woman, proper abuse. This time, I just hung up while he was still going on with his sales pitch. It’s really upsetting as I live alone and struggle with anxiety. I've signed up with TPS, so how on earth are they still getting through??

just chiming in on the post before.. tos only applies if the firm actually follows the rules. if the call isnt from a uk company then theres no rules they need to stick to and nobody to make them follow it. rule of thumb - no legit tech company calls you offering free assistance. that kinda thing is always a scam.

Just had a call from this number and decided to look it up, ended up on this site. Kinda weird coz I downloaded one of those ‘check your internet speed’ apps on my Chrome yesterday. After using it, it said my download speed was barely anything (which def isn’t true). My advice? Don’t pick up calls from random numbers without checking first. If it’s legit, they’ll leave you a voicemail.

Hello there! I've just received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be from Windows technical support, insisting that my computer is infested with viruses that neither Virgin nor I could possibly fix. They wanted me to open TeamViewer so they could have a nosey around my machine. I feigned interest but made it clear I could handle it myself. It's baffling how these cold callers think we're gullible... Honestly, I'm more cautious than the average bear. Just a heads-up to everyone out there - stay alert!

I’ve been plagued by a few dodgy phone calls lately, with these chaps claiming they’ve got my IP address and that there are some problems arising. Oddly enough, they couldn't seem to provide my name or any specifics, which suggests they’re just cold-calling. I’d suggest you just hang up. The moment I mentioned I was in IT, they abruptly ended the call. I find it quite peculiar, as a proper service centre - especially one from the States - wouldn’t be so quick to cut off communication with customers. Best to steer clear of these types!

I just received a rather dubious phone call from a chap of Asian descent who insisted that my computer was crawling whenever I attempted to browse. When I mentioned my internet security measures, he had the audacity to say they were ineffective! I shot back, telling him that they absolutely were, and then he abruptly hung up. Has anyone else flagged this number with the authorities? I've been cautioned that if I ever encounter a similar ruse, they might actually try to peddle dodgy software and then break into my system.

Some bloke called "Justin" said he was from my computer's IT support. Honestly, it's mad that anyone actually falls for it. He didn't even bother mentioning Microsoft or anything. If, like a few of you, I keep getting these annoying calls, I’ll just pass the phone to my wife. She's got this knack for stringing them along for at least half an hour, proper funny!

I just had a rather unexpected call from this number, claiming that my computer was performing poorly. I quickly clarified that it wasn't the case, given that my device is less than two months old. To my astonishment, he couldn't provide any information about where I purchased it, my personal details, or even the make of my computer! When I probed whether it was a cold call, he denied it outright. I firmly told him it certainly seemed like one, especially since this number has been recycled and I wouldn’t use it for any registrations. Out of the blue, he called me a foolish woman and abruptly hung up. The most ludicrous part? They’re not using auto-dialling services, which means he’s manually dialling each number without privacy settings, making it impossible to call back. What an utter waste of my time!

I just received a rather peculiar phone call from an individual who seemed to have an Indian accent. He claimed he was affiliated with Microsoft through a third-party outfit named PC Tech Support. Apparently, according to him, my computer was riddled with issues and viruses causing it to operate sluggishly. He went on about how they were monitoring systems and reaching out to folks. When I inquired about the cost for their so-called service, he assured me there would be no fees until they found something wrong. I wasn't convinced, so I politely declined and hung up. It definitely has all the hallmarks of a scam!

I received a couple of calls on both my mobiles and instantly recognised the scammers behind it-definitely not a trustworthy bunch! The bloke claimed to be from Windows, insisting that my computer was pinging him with distress signals. I swiftly told him to do one and warned that if he dared to ring me again, I'd be reporting him to the authorities and Ofcom. He terminated the call right away! Just a word of advice: never, ever share your personal details with these dodgy characters.

Got a call from someone claiming to be ‘windows tech support’ - total scam, but I guess they’re banking on a few folks falling for it. Just got a call from this number, some asian lady saying there was an issue with my computer. I asked what was wrong and she said it was slow and infected with a virus. I told her no way, my computer’s fine and no virus here. She kept insisting I had one, so I said it’s a bit rubbish to say that when I don’t even own a computer! She was like “oh crap” and then hung up on me.

Just a little while ago, I got a call from (02973680545). The chap on the other end had a rather strong Asian accent and was inquiring about the main Windows user in our home. I promptly asked him how he acquired our number, and he promptly cut the line. Thankfully, we've moved on from Windows, so it was clear to me he was up to no good. It's been ages since I’ve encountered a scam call, and I must admit, I would have relished the chance to toy with him a bit longer to see how far I could push him. I even tried ringing the number back from my mobile, but it just went silent immediately. I'm curious as to how they managed to get hold of our number in the first place.

I just received a rather dodgy call a short while ago, with someone claiming to be from my computer's technical support team. I promptly ended the conversation when he began rambling on about signals. I decided to ring HP's support, the same one I’ve used previously, merely to confirm they hadn’t attempted to contact me. Quite suspicious, I must say. He claimed to be representing my broadband provider and inquired about the performance of the service. When I asked him who we were with, he erroneously stated BT. I quickly realised he was fibbing and confronted him about it. At that moment, his confidence seemed to waver. Received a rather curious phone call earlier today from a chap with an accent that sounded Indian or perhaps Asian. This fellow claimed I had some dodgy files on my broadband which, he insisted, was the culprit behind its sluggish performance. He even mentioned he could provide me with a username and password. When I mentioned my daughter, who's rather savvy with IT, was currently at her job, I inquired about his employer. He feigned allegiance to all the major media companies like Virgin, Sky, and BT.
