My missus picked up the phone but had trouble figuring out what the caller was saying. She caught something about BT being disconnected or cut off. Since we don't use BT, it was clear it was a scam.

Got a call warning that my BT service was about to be cut off and to press 1 or 2 to switch providers. Total scam for sure, especially since I don’t even have BT in the first place.

I got a call from a woman who sounded American, saying my phone line was hacked. She told me to press option 1 if I wanted to keep my line working. There wasn’t really any other choice but to just block the call. Definitely felt like some kind of scam.

Sounds dodgy, like one of those phishing schemes. I don't even have BT myself, but I bet they're targeting folks who do.

This is the third time I've had a call from the same number, coming from California, where a lady with an American accent said they'd disconnect my line unless I pressed 1 to keep my BT service. However, I can't quite recall what they mentioned about pressing number 2. It's all a bit confusing really.
