Got a call from an unknown number again - definitely a scam. Best to just ignore and hang up straight away.

Just like everyone else has been saying lately, seriously, do NOT hit any buttons.

This morning, my mother-in-law got a call from this number, and she couldn’t quite catch what the caller was saying. She thought they were telling her she’d been disconnected from BT. She ended up pressing 1 like they asked, but then got so confused that she just ended the call - lucky she did! She rang me straight away after. She’s 92 and doesn’t even have the internet, but she’s quite anxious about the whole thing now. Honestly, these people are utter scammers and very dangerous.

I reckon the call was silent ‘cause it probably just went straight to my voicemail.

Got that exact prerecorded message again and they just cut the call straight away.

Just got another call, looks like one of those BT scams once more. Can’t they find somewhere else to bother!

Just got a call from a lady saying she was Jennifer Wilson about 5 minutes ago. She claimed I didn’t get what she was saying and said she’d call back on Monday to chat with my husband. Honestly, I only picked up 'cause I’ve been having problems with my wifi lately.

These calls are such a nuisance, I just want them to stop for good and disappear forever.

Today I got three calls from two different numbers, 0295456252 (twice) and 01134949206 (once), all within half an hour. The caller had this robotic voice claiming my BT account was at risk. I checked with BT and they assured me everything’s fine with my account. Since I’m registered with them, they told me I can block these calls by dialing 1572 straight away (don’t need to call 1471 first) and then choosing Option 1. This routes the dodgy calls to BT’s junk call line so they stop bothering me. Hopefully this tip helps others dealing with these nasty scam callers.

Got a call on my landline but missed it. When I tried returning the call, the number showed up as unknown.

It's definitely a scam but they just won't give up. I've already had 3 calls from them over the past couple of days.

They ring nonstop but won’t leave a voicemail, clearly hoping you’ll answer. When I finally picked up instead of letting it go to the answering machine, I got some robot telling me to press buttons, saying my internet was about to get cut off. Don’t press anything, it’s definitely a scam - my real internet company confirmed it’s dodgy.

Tried ringing my mum but she didn't pick up. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from a lady with an American accent saying my internet was about to get cut off and I needed to press 1 to find out more. Obviously just hung up straight away, seemed like a total scam.

Got a call from some kind of robotic American bloke telling me my internet’s gonna cut out today due to interference outside. Sounded dodgy as hell, so I just ended the call straight away. Totally a scam.

Some bloke pretending to be from Talk Talk called me, said my router got intercepted or something last week and that it was a big risk. I didn’t buy it for a second, gave him a piece of my mind, then just cut him off.

Got a call from someone who said they were with TalkTalk about my internet. The lady sounded Asian but had a proper English name, Jessica Johnson or something like that. I kept asking her loads of questions about where she was calling from, which ended up really annoying her, then she just hung up. Total scam, so I blocked the number.

Like some others mentioned, I have BT’s call protect turned on but it never seems to block these nasty scams. It’s really frustrating that even with the feature active, these fraudsters still manage to get through. Total joke!

It's such a pain having to deal with these calls. I just ended it quickly, but it's frustrating losing time like that. Wish we could actually stop them somehow.

This automated number has been ringing me about five times already today, and it's driving me mad. It keeps saying something about BT and my service being cut off. Really annoying!

Why is it that calls from an 02 number like 029556252 just keep coming through? Surely there’s a way to block them? It’s puzzling that these can’t be stopped given they’re from a local area code.

Just like what loads of others have said, it's a pretty rubbish attempt at scamming and not very believable at all. Sadly, some older folks might still fall for it though. It's awful that there's no way to put an end to this!
