This number’s not familiar to me, so I always let it ring out. Honestly, it’s better not to answer calls from numbers you don’t know.

Pretty much every time I answer one of those “funny” calls, if there’s a pause of around 3 seconds before someone speaks, it’s probably a telemarketer, often from abroad. These calls go through computer systems, which causes that wait before the line actually connects. They usually route through Australian inland phone exchanges, making it look like the call is coming from some tiny town or remote spot somewhere interstate or inland. Just my experience! Cheers!

Like everyone else, I had a similar thing happen. They actually knew my name! I probably should've been suspicious as soon as I heard that clicking sound... it was one of those automated calls that switched to a real person when I picked up.

Got a ring from this number but I didnt pick up. Since I dont have voicemail set up, it wasn’t like I could get a message or anything. I usually just ignore calls from unknown numbers or ones I’m not expecting.

Got a call that seemed dodgy, no one spoke when I picked up, then it just disconnected immediately. Definitely felt like a spoof call to me.

Got a ring from this number today, claiming it was from the Hilton Hotel group. Thing is, I've never even been to a Hilton, let alone one in Sydney. Pretty sure it’s just a spam or someone spoofing their number.

Got a voicemail that was all in Mandarin, sounded like one of those automated messages. Pretty sure it was some sort of scam or spam. The weird thing is, the number showed up as the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, so they probably faked the number to make it look legit.
