For the past few months, I've been getting loads of calls from random numbers I don't recognise on my phone. I reckon my number must have ended up in the hands of dodgy folk after I got tricked during a crypto purchase. Luckily, I managed to get my cash back, but those scammers clearly had my mobile number and I guess they've shared it around other con artists. I've had this number nearly three years and never had this kind of calls until that whole scam happened. Usually, it’s just a missed call and no voicemail left behind.

today i answered a call from this number, the person claimed to be from a government-related credit service but their English was awful and hard to follow. ive had loads of calls from different numbers lately, all showing up as places like manchester, newcastle and leeds on my phone. every time, they repeat the same lines. if i question them they just cut the call, so im convinced these calls are dodgy and shouldn’t be trusted.

Got a few calls from 02922770219, some bloke called Kevin claiming he’s from a debt recovery firm. I keep blocking the number but they just keep switching it up and ringing me from new ones. It’s about 3 to 5 calls daily on different numbers. All the callers sound like they’re not from around here. Proper annoying!

Got a call earlier today (2nd March 2022), didn't pick up and they didn’t leave any voicemail. Checked this site afterwards and figured it was probably a scam, so I’ve blocked the number.

Got a call from some debt collection firm. I said I wasn’t interested and they just told me to get lost in a rude way!

I told them I had no such debts at all, then just ended the call and blocked the number. Honestly, who do they think they are, ringing people like me who are seen as vulnerable? Twice they rang me this morning (3-2-22). Missed the first call, but picked up the second one. Stayed on the line for like 20 seconds, but couldn’t hear a thing from whoever was calling. Strange!

I’ve got a few debts myself, so reading these posts makes me wonder if this is legit. They seem to call about all sorts of outstanding stuff, which I guess a lot of folks have but might not know it. I’m a bit iffy about answering though - I usually sort out any notices by email or just call them directly.
