Initially, the caller was quite charming and courteous, but the moment I declined to share any details, their tone shifted dramatically to one of aggression and rudeness. I'd never heard of MEH and don’t have any life insurance with them. She said they don’t actually sell insurance but were calling for Standard Life. I cut her off, said I was at work and couldn’t chat. She suggested calling back later so I said after 6pm would be fine. Then she told me they shut at 5.30pm! So I told her I’d just get in touch with Standard Life myself to find out what’s going on and hung up.
