I didn’t answer this call and decided to look up strike ballot contact numbers on the RCN site. According to their info: “Phone calls on behalf of the RCN To make sure loads of members hear about the ballot, you may get a ring from The Telemarketing Company. The number calling will be 02922 746551. This firm works for the RCN so the call is legitimate.”

Got a call saying it was from “RCN” and they wanted me to verify my membership ID first, I just said no, they should already have it anyway. The woman hesitated and said “it’s just to make sure it’s really you” - plus the phone number showed Cardiff but she spoke with a London accent - totally dodgy, definitely a scam!!

Said they were from the Royal College of Nursing but swore they weren’t the actual RCN! Wanted my date of birth (no way I’m giving that to some random call!). The RCN’s never called me before and I’ve never agreed to share my number with anyone. If this was legit, wouldn’t they know that Royal College of Nursing actually means RCN?
