Got a call from someone saying he was Allan with Virgin Media, but he had a really thick Asian accent, sounded dodgy right away. We just ended the call straight off. Best to steer clear of this number, even if it’s spoofed, you can tell it’s a scam once they start chatting.

Got a call from this number bright and early at 7 this morning. Thought it might be my nan, who’s 87, so I jumped out of bed quick sharp, nearly made myself feel light-headed! But turns out I didn’t recognise the number at all. When I answered, it went straight to voicemail and no message was left. Got a call from someone saying they were from the Three network, trying to sell me the newest iPhone deal. I mentioned I was locked into a contract, but he claimed I could get an early upgrade without any cost because of some Black Friday offer. That’s when I got suspicious. Then I asked why they were ringing from a Cardiff number when it was supposedly Three calling me. Since I live in Cardiff, it felt fishy right away. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from a guy with an accent, said he was calling from O2. The call quality was awful, definitely sounded like it was coming from somewhere like India or maybe the Middle East, nowhere near the UK. When he claimed it was O2, I asked "O2 in Mumbai?" and he just cut the call right there. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Definitely a call centre or someone pretending with loads of noise in the background. The call quality was awful, probably from abroad, and their English was rubbish - they didn’t even get what I was saying. The person claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but I told him if that was true, they’d know I’m signed up with the TPS and calling me could land them a £5000 fine. I threatened to report them to the Telephone Preference Service. He had no clue what I meant, so obviously not legit. At least I managed to waste some of their time so they can’t bother others. I’ve had 6 calls like this today, all different numbers but same bloke pretending to be from Carphone Warehouse. Not very clever either, he couldn’t even keep track of who he’d called before.
