So, I got a call from someone called Sophie claiming to be an "energy adviser" about roof insulation - poor girl sounded completely miserable. You could tell she wasn’t enjoying it at all, and I reckon the previous callers weren’t very kind to her. It made me feel a bit sorry for her, so I just politely told her I’m in a ground-level flat and ended it there. Honestly, she must be desperate for whatever little cash she’s getting, probably sent by the JobCentre or something. She really doesn’t need any hassle from people. Just say no politely, folks.

Got a call from a nervous lady with a Lancashire accent, kept saying hello like she was trying too hard. She claimed she was part of The Driveway Team, made it seem like I was meant to recognise that name. She yelled hello another time. Could hear shuffling like she was looking at some sort of script, then her voice got higher and she asked if I was the homeowner. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Then she insisted I had a right to a free assessment! Ended up hanging up on her.

Just had a call from someone called Sophie, also from Yorkshire, trying the usual "Local energy advisor" line. She didn’t get far though because I knew straight away it was a dodgy number ringing my landline. At least she was polite enough to say "Sorry to bother you" before hanging up. It’s a bit disheartening that seemingly friendly young ladies like her end up involved in these shady scams. Surely there are legitimate call centres where she could earn an honest wage without all this nonsense.

Got a call earlier from this number, with a lady claiming to be my local energy advisor chatting about new roof insulation options. I asked for her name and which company she was with; she told me she was Sophie from Ecoroof. When I then asked where she was located, she mentioned Southampton, which is miles away from my place in Yorkshire. I pointed out the distance, and she just said 'Have a nice day' and hung up. Somebody rang claiming to be a local energy consultant wanting to chat about new government rules on roof insulation. I wasn’t really interested so didn’t pay much attention. Tried ringing back afterwards but just got a dead line.

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent claiming to be from EE. She was pushing a sim-only deal for just £10 a month. When I asked her to explain how it was better than my existing EE plan, and mentioned she ought to check my actual account, she kept interrupting me. I had to tell her to be quiet and listen properly. She couldn’t answer a single question, so it’s obvious she didn’t have access to my real EE account. Definitely another scam, and could be risky too.
