Honestly, I think cold-calling people using the phone is pretty rude, especially if you can't even speak clear English. When I told the bloke he was a right idiot, he got all offended and just ended the call. Won't be so polite next time, that's for sure.

This number rang me four times all within a single day claiming to be from EE. I just hung up and blocked it straight away. Then, a bit later, two more calls come through from a different EE number, so I blocked that one as well. About an hour after that, I got another call from a Leeds number, again saying it was EE. I warned them to quit calling, mentioning my husband’s a police officer and that I'd get it sorted properly if they kept bothering me. Luckily, I haven’t had any more calls since.

Had no clue what the bloke on the phone was going on about. Caught bits like "amazon" and something about "price drop from £50 to £40." Told him if he wanted to be any good at scamming, he might want to brush up on his English first. He got all angry, threw some threats at me, then just cut me off. Honestly, if they hired people who spoke properly, I’d have a laugh, pretending to be interested just to waste their time. So far, I’ve kept one on the line for nearly half an hour!

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2, but the way they acted was really dodgy. When I asked a couple of questions, the person sounded unprofessional and then just cut the call. Definitely seemed like a scam rather than a proper O2 rep.

I got a call from a Cardiff area code at 10.37 on the 20th of December. I didn’t pick up straight away since the number wasn’t familiar to me, but I hesitated because I was expecting someone from Cardiff to ring. Before deciding to pick up, I looked up the number on this site. After seeing the comments left by others, I ended up blocking the number. Cheers to everyone for sharing their experiences!

Shortly after, another missed call came through from 02922642289, which was also marked as suspicious. Noticed that both numbers start with the same seven digits, so looks like the same dodgy outfit from Cardiff is behind it. I’ve blocked this second number too now.

Got a call from someone claiming there was an issue with my O2 direct debit. Thing is, I’m not even an O2 customer! Pretty clear they were trying to get my bank or card info. Total scam.

I just don't get why the police dont keep an eye on places like these & actually take action to catch these horrible scammers? It seems like you gotta fall for the scam first before they lift a finger. Surely the signs are there from the start, so why not stop them before they trick some poor elderly lady out of her pension or someone else who’s easy to fool? These scumbags just make me so angry. Received a call purporting to be from O2’s billing department, asserting there was an issue with my account. Upon further questioning, the caller said it was due to a technical upgrade that had led to my account being suspended. They insisted on sending me some guidance through email to sort it out but then asked for my email address to confirm my identity. The inconsistencies in their responses raised my suspicions, making it clear this was likely a phishing scam, so I ended the call.

I received a couple of calls from +44 29 2264 2289, which appears to be linked to Cardiff. It rang twice before abruptly disconnecting. Almost immediately afterwards, I got another call from +44 113 534 5197, supposedly a Leeds number. However, there was utter silence on the line. After doing a bit of digging, it seems that both of these numbers are associated with scammers. Quite the nuisance, really!

No matter how I tried to steer the conversation or throw in a few questions of my own, they just kept regurgitating their scripted lines. It was almost comical! But the moment I mentioned that they were calling a police line, they promptly disconnected. Very fishy if you ask me! 😊
