Got a call out of the blue about a supposedly ‘free’ loft inspection. I kept saying I’d had one done just a couple of years ago but she just wouldn’t back off. Eventually, I told her it was a bit dodgy sending people round to homes during this whole Covid mess, and if anyone did show up, they’d be shown the garden gate sharpish. I hung up and it was strangely quiet after that. Felt pretty good to put her in her place!

Complete muppets on the other end today, ringing about some loft inspection to check if I was eligible for a survey or whatever. She was clearly sticking to a script, like all of them do, but it threw her off when I started asking proper questions. In the end, I gave her the postcode for the nearby police station instead. Didn’t seem to bother her one bit - she went ahead and repeated it like it was totally normal: “xxx police station, yyyy street, zzzz town.” Absolutely laughable. I only bother doing this so they don’t pester some poor old folks with their nonsense calls.

Recently, I've been getting loads of dodgy calls, so I'm guessing my number got added to some scammer's list, even though it's registered with the TPS and I haven't shared it with anyone lately. Every call felt like a scam, so I've added this one to my blacklist. Just blocked them straight away. Typical!
