Received a voicemail earlier today from someone claiming to be 'Officer Lisa' from the HMRC, insisting I get in touch right away due to a supposedly serious lawsuit in my name. Couldn’t believe my ears! Then, lo and behold, the very next day I get another call - this time a chap from HMRC on the line, urging me to press 1 for further discussion. I've chosen to just brush it off, but I can imagine how someone without a clue might get flustered over such nonsense!

My phone had a voicemail from some automated voice while I wasn’t home. I just figured it was some sort of scam and decided not to bother. But now I’m wondering, what do they actually gain if you call them back? Has anyone actually called back and had a proper chat with these people?

I’ve already flagged that number with HMRC and also the National Fraud Office. Honestly, the more folks that report it, the better chance they’ll do something about it. My advice? Just ignore the call and definitely don’t call them back.

I’ve come across a rather menacing scam lately and have reported it to both the National Fraud Office and HMRC. If I manage to pinpoint their whereabouts, would I be within my rights to consider taking legal action against them?

Got a call from someone saying they were ‘officer Lisa’ from HMRC, told me I had to ring back straight away or else face big legal trouble. I checked with HMRC and they said it was nothing to do with them, just a scam trying to trick people. I’ve also made sure to report it to the fraud hotline so they’re aware.

Greetings, I recently picked up a rather dubious call from an automated voicemail. It referenced some unnamed individual, urging them to ring back on 2922550404 and to inform whoever answered that it was HM Customs, and to ask for someone named Lisa. It’s rather telling that they only provided a 10-digit number, and I highly doubt HM Customs would reach out via phone like that - surely they’d send a letter instead. This is clearly a scam, so best to dismiss it, but definitely make sure to inform your phone provider about it!

Today, this number called my 95-year-old Grandma. The person on the line said they were contacting her about some kind of legal action because of noise complaints from her property! They even left a number for her to get back to them.

I returned home from my shift to find a message urging me to ring back at once, or else I'd face prosecution by HM Customs. Thankfully, I’m not of an age where such threats could send me into a panic; otherwise, it might have given me quite a scare! It's absolutely these scammers who ought to be facing the music.

Just got a really threatening phone call claiming to be from HMRC, saying I’m involved in some big legal trouble. I wasn’t going to bother calling them back since I knew it was a con, but it still left me feeling a bit shaken. A few years ago, my mum fell victim to a similar scam, so I’m super careful now - but not everyone is as wary. Honestly, these nasty scammers deserve to be dealt with severely.

I received a rather alarming phone call purportedly from HM Revenue & Customs, urging me to ring them back immediately due to some pressing legal matter. The number they displayed was 2922550404, which struck me as odd-as it has only 10 digits instead of the required 11. They even mentioned an officer named Lisa, but my instincts told me this was all rather dodgy. Definitely a SCAM! I opted not to return their call.

I've had the same experience with a Lisa robot from "HMRC" ringing me up, trying to scare folks into calling back a seriously pricey number - definitely a scam! Don’t bother, just block or ignore it. Being older, I was really shook up by this call. Luckily, I missed it initially due to other things going on and as time went by, I calmed down and thought things through properly. There's no way HMRC would suddenly ring and speak in such a harsh way without warning. Since I retired years back, I don’t have to file tax returns anymore.
