Some woman called herself Jackie from some company mumble-mumble, saying it’d be really quick and not to worry. She asked if I was the homeowner, but before I said anything, I told her twice to say the name of the company again. After that, she just went silent and then hung up on me. No clue what the scam was supposed to be, but it felt off for sure. Definitely felt pushy and who knows what she was up to - probably dodgy.

I picked up but there was complete silence, then they just ended the call. It came from a blocked number.

I'm based in Plymouth and just got a ring from this number. A lady started talking, saying something like "don't worry, it's nothing bad, but have you had any issues with damp or mould?" She was about to go on, but I just ended the call. When I picked up, there was that usual awkward pause before she started chatting. Number showed up as "Annoying ?" on my BT Digital Voice, so I just let it ring off. When my answerphone picked up, there was no message apart from a generic "Thanks for calling," which reeks of those call centre robocall scams. I'll block it, but I'm sure they'll try again with a different dialling code. It's the third time today I've had pretty much the same call on various numbers, and I got one like that just yesterday too.

Why on earth would a British company have someone with an American accent? Plus, they phoned my work number, not my usual mobile - which is where BT normally contacts me. Seems a bit sketchy to me, but if it’s legit - sorry BT, didn’t mean to doubt ya...
