They knew my full name and where I live. Claimed to be from Beneficial, calling to do a quick survey. When I told him that GDPR means I shouldn’t be getting random calls and asked him to take my details off their list, he just hung up on me, which was kinda amusing!

He went on about coming to my place if I don’t pay up, said he’d 'sort me out' or summat, though I could hardly catch a word with his proper thick accent. Said he knows my address in Hartlepool, ha! I’m actually in Grimsby - reckon I’ve let the cat out the bag there - haha! :)

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise out of the blue. I just picked up and left the phone down, didn’t say a word. They hung up after like four seconds with some beeping sound, like those annoying call centre calls. I’ve marked it in my phone so I can have a bit of fun if they ring back again.

I don’t normally pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but I was waiting on a call from a support line so thought it might be them. The woman on the line spoke so quickly, and I couldn’t make out her accent but it definitely wasn’t Welsh. She rattled off her company name so fast I missed it completely. What really threw me was when, without pausing, she recited the postcode and address of my old place, asking if her info was right. I told her it wasn’t and I never share my details with strangers. Then she just hung up on me.

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS Spammers probably get your number through the apps you put on your phone and also from those dodgy ads from other companies. What people gotta realise is why on earth would an app need to see your phone calls or contacts? So next time you wanna download something, make sure to check what permissions you’re giving them before clicking install!

This number called me earlier today so I put it on block straight away because I’ve never had anyone from Cardiff ring me and I guessed it was one of those scam calls. Honestly, I reckon signing up for those so-called freebie or trial sites is a waste of time - they just send you daft little bits like a tiny dab of cream or something. The worse bit is they pass your info on to loads of marketing companies who then bombard you with annoying calls from one end of the country to the other. Proper rubbish, watch out for it!
