Got a call from some woman who was really pushing me to renew my phone deal. I told her I’d already sorted upgrades for my wife, my car, and even the laptop, all without annoying sales calls. Then I cheekily told her she should focus on upgrading her own job instead.

I was told I was eligible for an upgrade on my account, so I gave them some personal info like my name, address, date of birth, account number and sort code. I never gave out my pin or CVV though. They promised a confirmation email but I haven’t got one and now I’m getting worried that my identity might be at risk. Anyone know what I should do?

so this lady called me, said her name was Kirsty and asked me by my first name. she claimed to be from “get connected” and said the call was on behalf of 02. when i asked her two times if her business actually worked with 02 and if 02 had authorized the call, she just hung up on me. pretty clear they weren’t calling with 02’s consent or even aware of it.
