Got a call from some bloke trying to sell me insurance for a fridge delivery I’d just organised. He kept going on about Data Protection stuff, which seemed dodgy straight away. Seems like he must’ve got my number from the company doing the delivery. I asked him why I’d bother with his insurance and if he even worked for the company involved. After that, he got all evasive, so I told him he was breaching UK GDPR rules. I blocked him straight away and reported the number. Honestly, this is just someone trying to pinch your info and rip you off. Stay well clear!

The person claimed to be ringing (on my private number) from ao.com to "verify" info about a replacement washer I supposedly bought just an hour before. When I pressed him for the exact reason for calling, he got a bit hostile, even though I told him my purchase info was accurate and had been confirmed directly by ao.com. I’ll be reaching out to them to find out if they share customers’ contact or order details - if they don’t, they seriously need to review their online protection.

If this is really AO, I’m quite let down as I had a good opinion of them before, but that’s changed now.
