Got a voicemail saying to press 1 for updates on some HMRC investigation about me. I blocked the number right away and then wiped the message.

I just got a pre-recorded message that said HMRC has some sort of county case against me, and they wanted me to press 1 for more info. It doesn’t feel right at all - I reckon they’d send an actual letter if it were true, wouldn’t they?

They rang me up and told me to press 1 if I wanted to keep the call going. Didn’t dare, so I looked up the number here. Definitely a scam, best to ignore and not answer.

Got a robo call saying it was HMRC and that they're gonna sue me. They kept telling me to press 1 for more info. Yeah right, no way I'm falling for that! Just hung up straight away. These scammers are the worst! Don’t even bother talking to them, just ignore and end the call. Total scam!

On 2nd April 2018 I got a robo call supposedly from HMRC saying I was involved in a lawsuit and to press 1 for details. I went ahead and pressed 1 but quickly ended the call before speaking to anyone. Later, I figured out it was a scam.

2nd April, 10:30 am - A bank holiday, I presume?

I screened the call

When I tried ringing the number back, it just kept ringing.

I have no reason to think this is genuine at all.

I got a call saying there’s a legal action being taken against me and that they’re from HMRC, asking me to press 1 to speak to a case officer. It’s a total scam - HMRC would always contact you by letter, never phone like this. Just ignore it, and if it keeps happening, you can report these fake callers to the police. Honestly, these scammers are really serious and need to be caught and punished, not made to feel safe like the real people!

I just got a call from this number and I think it was some kind of scam. I didn’t pick up or anything.

When I got back, I kept hearing a message saying "Press 1 for more details about the case." Curious, I checked the number with 1471 and it showed up. This is total rubbish. Like some folks mentioned, any real "summons" would surely arrive by post. It really worries me that people might fall for this trick, end up losing cash, and get stressed out over nothing.

Why on earth isnt the government doing anything to stop these scammers? It’s so frustrating! Honestly, I wish there was a way to catch them all and just deal with them properly. They’re causing so much trouble!

This actually gave me a right scare! Can't understand how these messages still manage to sneak in. Thankfully, I thought to look up the number first and found loads of other people saying the same thing, which was a bit of a relief. Makes you wonder how many folks don’t bother checking sites like this...

I'm in my seventies along with my hubby, who's stuck in the hospital and pretty poorly at the moment. Honestly, the government should seriously sort out these callers, I can barely cope with all this on top of everything else. It's just so frustrating.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, threatening a lawsuit. If it was legit, they’d send a proper letter, not just ring you up with a robo call. Honestly, just hang up and don’t follow any of their instructions!

Got a call from someone insisting I owed money to HMRC. Honestly, how is this number still active? They really ought to shut it down. Feels like they're fishing for my bank info or something. Almost called them back just to warn them they were about to get cut off!

Got a robo call claiming there’s some case against me but didn’t even say who it was for, just “against you.” It told me to press 1 to get more info - yeah right, not falling for that! This kind of thing must scare older folks a lot, honestly. These con artists really need to be cracked down on by the proper police or fraud team!

Got a voicemail pretending to be from HMRC, saying there was an investigation on me - press 1 to talk. I pressed out of curiosity, and the bloke who picked up sounded totally clueless about what I was on about. Then he asked "Is this...?" and butchered my last name badly. Definitely a dodgy call trying to scare folks into handing over their details - best to ignore and block!

On 20/02/18, this number called me claiming I'd committed fraud involving £40,000. They said they were officers, but I played along and told them there’s no jails nowadays, only prisons. Then I told them to send the police here, and suddenly they started speaking in their own language. Then today, 22/02/18, they rang again saying now it’s £20,000. I told them to hold on while I put my mate on the phone, he works in the internet fraud unit. They just hung up straight away. BE WARNED, THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!
