I got a call yesterdy from someone claiming to be with BT Internet, so I just hung up. Then the same number rang again today, with the caller saying they were from Windows this time. Reported it to www.actionfraud.police.uk. I reckon everyone should report these dodgy calls too.

Got three calls today, two times no one said a word. The third time, the person claimed they were from BT. I wasn’t buying it, so asked for proof. She tried to convince me by telling me what she said was my account number, but then read out a phone number that was clearly theirs, not mine. Feels like they reckon I’m a total mug. Have reached out to BT and now waiting to hear back. Caller says it’s BT but it’s definitely not!

Got a call at 8.30 am, told the person I work shifts and needed to be left alone so I hung up. Then same number called back about 20 mins later. I asked him nicely to stop calling and he got really rude and aggressive. He said he’d keep ringing me every morning without fail and then just ended the call.

The person had an Asian accent. I just ended the call because it seemed dodgy. Checked the number online and found loads of others had the same experience. The caller sounded Asian. I just ended the call straight away because it felt dodgy. When I searched the number online, I found loads of people complaining about the same thing. Got a call at 7.30 in the morning, but the line was terrible, couldn’t hear a thing. Then at 8am, I got another call from a lady with a foreign accent asking if I was the BT account holder. I told her I don’t even use BT. She kept asking who my internet provider was, I told her that’s none of her concern. Then she started asking about what laptops or computers I had. When I told her it was annoying being woken up so early and I hadn’t given her any info, she just hung up on me.

Got a call from a scammer saying they could fix my computer, so I played along for about 15 minutes acting like I was following their instructions, even though I didn't have a computer anywhere near me. They got pretty annoyed when I told them it still wasn’t working and asked if they could just go through the steps one more time.

Keep getting calls from a number that seems UK but shows as 'International' on my phone. They say they're from BT, saying my hub got hacked. Told the bloke if he’s really BT, give me a number to ring back. He gave some London number, not the one on my caller ID, so I phoned it and nobody answered. BT always have 0800 numbers for help, so it’s obvious a scam.

Definately a SCAM call. Your BT phone line and internet are fine, no issues at all! DO NOT switch on your PC or share any info with them!! I’ve just checked with BT directly and they said this is totally a scam. STAY ALERT!!

They always claim to be from BT tech support. My number is xd and these calls kicked off right after I had to contact BT tech, which is apparently overseas. I honestly think the folks working for BT abroad are passing on these numbers to scammers. Money talks, so BT doesn't seem bothered about keeping their customers safe.

I've had this number ring me about four times over the past week. Usually it pops up as an International call, but once it showed the exact number mentioned above. Dialling 1471 when it's appearing as International actually confirms it's the same caller. Sounds like a dodgy scammer pretending to be from BT, targeting ex-directory numbers. I've got a feeling these numbers might have been leaked from BT’s technical support centre, especially since the calls only started after I had some technical issues while with BT. Seems like some unscrupulous overseas team might be selling the details to scammers. BT definitely doesn’t want to admit they’re behind the problem or do anything about it.
