‭0161 521 3245‬ Manchester, England - Got a call and a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC. They told me to get in touch with Denis Gray and warned not to ignore the message or they’d take legal steps. Yeah right, would love to see them take legal action... against all these scammers!!

On 17/09/20, I got two calls - one at 10:27am and the other at 2:09pm. Today, there was a voicemail from 02038904737 with a robotic, female voice claiming to be from HMRC customs. She said my case was serious and advised me to get a solicitor, then to ring back on the same number and ask for Dennis Gray.

I got a call that went straight to voicemail - it was an automated voice claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs, saying it was urgent and to ring back on 01913081519. Seems like a scam that could hit your phone bill with big charges if you call back. Then the same number called again, and the voicemail was pretty much the same, saying it was HM Revenue & Customs and to get in touch with Dennis Grey on that number. I’ve blocked the number and reported it now.

Got a call from Dennis Gray at HMRC on 02032900534. Like the other calls, it was a female robot voice. I tried calling back the number they left but ended up speaking to a bloke with a really thick Asian accent. I couldn’t catch what he was saying at first. When I asked him to say it again, he spoke super slow and like he thought I was daft. Then he asked for someone with a obviously Latin name, something like Maria. I’m a guy and when I said “Do I sound like a Maria?” he swore at me and hung up.

HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM 02921286570 Maybe the cops could use an auto dialler app, call the scammer with 141 to hide their number and set it to ring their line about 3000 times. My mum got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be 'HMRC', which really freaked her out, thinking she was in serious trouble. Luckily she rang me straight away and I told her HMRC always sends letters beforehand. You can always ring HMRC directly on 0300 200 3300 to check. Just a heads up, this is definitely a SCAM.

Got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC warning me about legal trouble if I didn’t call back or my lawyers didn’t get in touch. When I rang them, they messed up my name and then asked for my postal code - which made me suspicious as we don’t use zip codes here. They then asked my age and when I questioned it, some bloke called Samuel Baxter said it was because he wanted to marry me! I just hung up then. What a load of rubbish! Don’t get caught out by this scam.

These folks have totally stressed me out, they really shouldn’t be allowed to do this. Honestly, where they get your name, number, and address from is beyond me. I’m defiantly going to report this to the police, hopefully they can put a stop to this bullying. I’m a single mum with kids aged 6 and 13, and being told I’d be arrested while on holiday is just awful. The only reason I didn’t end up paying anything was cos all my cards were at home - if I’d been there, I probably would’ve paid whatever they asked and lost thousands. It’s shocking, I’m still buzzing from it.
