It’s pretty clear that this number is a classic cover for some dodgy scammers, likely operating from the States. The Cardiff prefix is simply a clever ruse to give off the impression that they’re actually located in the UK.
You’ve got two paths to choose from: either silence the call by blocking the number, or indulge in a bit of mischief at their cost. If you opt for the latter, when you finally get a voice on the line, feign enthusiasm for whatever they're peddling. But when it comes to sorting out payment, hit them with a barrage of phoney details - use a fictitious bank, an invented name and address, completely bogus account information - and watch them squirm as they waste their own time trying to sort out your made-up mess!

Oh, absolutely, that was from Vanquis! I’d just given the nod to make a payment last night. So far, we've had two rings from them-one we totally missed and the second, well, we hardly let them get a word in edgewise. We calmly informed them that we wouldn’t be accepting any more calls from their end, and they were keen to dive straight into their spiel without even a proper greeting. After that, we simply hung up. They’ll be added to our call block list until after the date we’ve agreed upon; in the meantime, they can go and find a pin cushion to land on!

Dealing with Vanquis’ customer service has been quite the nuisance. It’s as if they have no consideration for when they choose to call. I’ve had them ring me as early as 7 in the morning on weekdays, and sometimes well into the evening at 7 pm on Sundays! Honestly, their customer service and policies leave a lot to be desired - it's just utterly frustrating.

What a right bunch of muppets these people are! Even after we settled on what we could handle financially, they still have the cheek to bother us. On one particular day, I was interrupted by rings from two different numbers all day long! They even had the audacity to call me back using that ridiculous sweet centre you find in toffee apples. When I finally answered, I told the bloke to really pay attention to the notes on his screen regarding our last two conversations. I made it crystal clear that if they dare to ring again, we'll chop up that pesky card and send it back to customer service - I mean, really? These idiots take liberties! VANQUIS, you lot are the very definition of numpties. Please do us all a favour and disappear!

They’ve been ringing us all throughout Sunday! Honestly, it’s a family day for goodness’ sake! What are we meant to do when we’re trying to take a breather? It’s absolutely dreadful. It seems that we've been inundated with calls from Vanquis for the past twelve months, even though we’ve set up a payment plan. It’s becoming quite the nuisance!

I've been inundated with a constant stream of calls from various numbers, and I also receive a text message from Vanquis once or twice weekly. The bothersome part is that I don’t even have an account or any links to them at all! It’s incredibly frustrating.

It's Vanquis again! They're ringing us at least five times daily - it's utterly tedious!

What a bunch of complete idiots! I set up my credit card payment protection because I’m unwell, and they promised a personal review after three months. That never happened, of course. They claimed they sent me an automated letter, but I’ve not seen a thing. And wouldn’t you know it, they evidently used their clever little automated system to cancel my payment protection, then started bombarding me with calls and texts demanding money! I rang them to sort it out, and I’ve had countless frustrating conversations with those nincompoops, explaining my predicament over and over again. It’s absolutely infuriating! My payment protection should never have been switched off-I'm still in the same situation and need it reinstated without delay. Yet here we are, they’ve called me again today about an overdue payment. Meanwhile, I’m accumulating fees and interest because of their muck-ups. I refuse to pay any of that nonsense. What utter scoundrels they are!
