On Tuesday, 21st March 2011, just around midday, we received a call from this number. A gentleman with a distinctly Welsh accent mentioned something about a "grave issue regarding insurance mis-selling." We promptly declined to engage further and hung up the phone.

I received a call from this number today, 2nd March 2011, at 4:49 PM. Any idea who it might be?

Apparently, this lot claims to be a firm that deals with mis-sold PPI matters.

Earlier today, we received an unsolicited call on our mobile regarding some supposedly mis-sold insurance. The caller claimed that our number was part of a database that insurance firms have had to disclose, which supposedly lists individuals who had been misled with their policies. It's quite evident that they hadn’t the foggiest idea who we actually are!

Well, here we go again with yet another dodgy operation! I'll definitely steer clear of this lot. They had the nerve to claim that the information is clearly accessible. Honestly, I just ended the call right there. Absolute nonsense!

We recently received a call from this number, and the line went silent as soon as we picked up. We've ensured that we're on the Telephone Preference Service list. How is it even possible for this to occur? A massive thank you to the other contributors here for sharing their insights; we now know precisely how to tackle the situation should it arise again. Cheers to everyone for the guidance! Best, Jon.

Received a rather upbeat voicemail this evening, urging us to get in touch with Chloe regarding something rather urgent. Quite amusing, really! I’ve no plans to return their call whatsoever. It’s baffling how on earth they’ve come by our number, considering I’m ex-directory!

Honestly, don’t waste your time on this. We’ve been getting calls from insurers on our BUSINESS number, and when we tried to let them know, they clearly weren’t interested in having a proper chat. Absolute waste of breath!

Absolutely, we're in the same boat! It would be immensely helpful if someone could clarify who these individuals are and why their calls seem to be costing us money every time they get in touch. It’s quite frustrating, to say the least!

This number just phoned my mobile, but the line went silent as soon as I answered. I tried calling it back from a landline, and the same thing happened - the call cut off the moment I picked it up. Very odd indeed!

We keep getting random calls from this number, but whenever we pick up, there's never anyone on the other end. If we try to call back, we just get a recorded message saying, "Please hold on while I try to connect your call." But then, after about half a minute, the line just cuts out. Has anyone got a clue about who is behind this?

I was led to believe that Claims Liberator had the means to claim back any mis-sold PPI, and so I reached out to them. A lady named Tilly answered the call, and it became apparent that our details were in their possession. When we inquired about their awareness of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), the chap we spoke to insisted they complied with the regulations, but he couldn’t offer a satisfactory explanation for why they’d contacted us, given our TPS registration. To top it all off, he seemed completely oblivious to who their Data Protection Officer was and outright declined to provide an address. I’m in the process of lodging a complaint with the TPS now.

I've been getting calls from this number every single day, but as soon as we answer, there's nothing but silence on the line. It's incredibly frustrating! We've been on the Telephone Preference Service list for ages now, so I can't quite understand how this is happening.

I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and only my relatives ought to have my number. So, how is it that these callers seem to know it and keep ringing me? It’s really puzzling!
