We always ignore calls from numbers we don’t know. Interestingly, we never receive any voicemails, even though we've got an answering machine set up.

There was nothing but quiet at first, then an automated voice came on and said goodbye.

No idea who it was, didn't get what they wanted so I just ended the call.

The bloke had a really thick Asian accent and I struggled to catch what he was saying. He already knew my name and asked me to verify it, but I replied by asking who he was. Couldn’t quite make out his words properly, but just to be awkward, I kept telling him to repeat himself like 7 or 8 times. I think he mentioned something about ‘call blocking’ at some point, so I finally snapped, “So you’re a scammer, then?” and he just hung up on me.
