Honestly, it’s pretty obvious why they want your number on the form. If you’re not keen on getting calls, just don’t put your number in. It’s not rocket science, just a bit of common sense if you stop and give it a moment’s thought.

Today, I got two calls from this number but I didn’t pick up. I have an overseas phone number that I barely share outside the country I’m living in. Usually, I use a UK number when I’m in the UK. Yesterday, I filled out a couple of online forms about life insurance and gave this overseas number for contact. So, I’m pretty sure that’s how this number ended up being called. I used websites like https://www.cavendishonline.co.uk/life/ and https://www.moneyworld.com/life-insurance/ for the enquiries. Someone from those companies called me too, but from different numbers and with a different area code, not this one. It looks like my details might have been passed on to someone else without my consent. Not impressed at all!
