These annoying companies and their calls really need to be stopped. When I do pick up these calls, I always tell them I’m on the TPS and ask why they’re ringing me - they hang up pretty quick then. I’ve run out of room to keep blocking numbers, so this new one’s gonna be saved under FOFF along with the countless others in my contacts.

Received a call today at half past twelve from a chap representing Home Appliance Guard. He brought up Domestic & General but didn’t quite clarify how they were linked. Apparently, he claimed to have details concerning a direct debit my wife has for £7 aimed at covering appliances, promising to lower that to £5. I inquired about how he planned to facilitate this reduction, and he stated he merely needed to confirm which television was included in the policy. To my knowledge, we had a policy with them about three decades back, but never for a television! He seemed to be dodging the question when I pressed him for the company's official contact information, and eventually, the line went dead after I suggested he might be engaging in some dodgy dealings or that he was simply misinformed. After the call ended, I did a bit of digging online and found their website which looks legitimate. I've reported the incident to the Telephone Preference Service, as it seemed like an attempt to pull a fast one while using their name.

Some guy rang claiming to be from UK Appliances, saying my details show I'm still with them and that I’m paying £7 a month for insurance. I told him he had the wrong info, and he just hung up on me.
