I've been getting loads of spam calls claiming to be from Amazon, saying I owe money for things like an Amazon Prime subscription. Since I never buy stuff online, especially not from Amazon, I know these calls are fake. I've flagged the number as risky because I can imagine it being really scary for people who actually use Amazon. Other numbers I've had calls from include 07022541540 (on 14.11.20), which looks like a real number and comes from Karnataka, plus 01473998144, 02920998144 and 07786520976. Honestly, it's like I'm getting one of these fake Amazon calls nearly every day now.

I got a call on the 11th of Feb 2020 and then again today. Both times it was a woman with a Chinese accent saying she was from Microsoft and said there was an issue with my PC. The first call I just hung up, but when she called back today I asked if it was a scam and she just ended the call straight away. The number showed up as International but strangely had a Cardiff dialling code.

Some bloke called "Daniel" saying he was from "Amazon" but there was a lag like it was an international call. It was only 7.29 in the morning and I guess "Daniel" forgot about the time zones. He was all chipper asking how I was, but when I told him he’d just woken me up he just hung up on me. Honestly, getting woken up AND hassled like that feels even more annoying than the usual scam stuff.

This number has rung me thrice today; I never pick up, and it just cuts off silently. Upon reviewing my call history, I noticed that it’s tried to get through another four times since the 6th of October. Curiously enough, when I checked my call log from the beginning, the three calls I received earlier had somehow transformed into a different number - specifically 02033751546, which appears to be a London line. I’m on a landline and can’t quite fathom how the details in my call log could change like that! It’s quite apparent that regulatory bodies should take a closer look and put a stop to these fraudulent callers, as well as bolster the security measures across all telephone systems.

Received a call from 02920473447 just before 1pm today. The person said they were from Microsoft and told me my computer had been hacked, which seemed fishy straight away. I passed the phone to my partner, and the caller surprisingly knew her full name and address. He said he’d give her a code to type into the computer so he could fix the issue remotely. That’s when she ended the call. The caller had a noticeable Indian accent.

Got a call from someone named Jaques saying a gift card had been bought on our Amazon. Account’s been hacked, apparently, but there’s no record of any purchase. I got a call at 7.40 this morning and picked up cos I was concerned about an elderly family member. At first there was silence, then a man with an Indian accent started talking. I asked if he knew what time it was, and he insulted me for being lazy, was really rude and swore quite a bit. This number rang me a couple of times recently when I wasn’t home, but they never left a voicemail. I tried calling back but it sounds like the number isn’t valid. I’m certain it’s the right one though, coz my phone logs all incoming calls and I even used 1471 to check.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, trying to get me to renew some call blocking service. They asked for my bank details for Direct Debit - absolute rubbish people.

I got a call from someone who used my name and said they were from the 'Telecom Service' about some call blocking thing on my account that supposedly expires today. They insisted I had to renew right away, saying it was super important to keep me safe from dodgy and annoying calls. The woman sounded pretty pushy, warning I'd be "vulnerable" to loads of risks if I didn’t sort it. It honestly felt quite intimidating. Still, I figured it was a scam since my actual phone company wouldn’t just outsource something like call blocking to random people!

Got a typical one today, some bloke claiming there's a virus on my PC that regular antivirus couldn't pick up. He then told me to hit the Windows key, yeah right! Told him to jog on and I ended the call, but the cheeky git rang me back again!

My 75-year-old dad got a call from this number asking if he owned a computer. He said no, as he doesn’t, and then the person started calling him "a f#### old liar." The language was terrible and downright abusive. Anyone knows who might be behind this?
